Sports Medicine

Sports-Medicine-300x200From the little league to professional sports, Northtowns Orthopedics continues to help thousands of athletes from all over Western New York get “back in the game.” Our orthopedic physician specialists commonly treat sports injuries in the bones, cartilage, muscles, and tendons. We will work with you through the process of diagnosis and treatment to get you back on the road to recovery.

Our fellowship trained orthopedic sports medicine specialists – Dr. Donald Douglas, Dr. Matthew Zinno, and Dr. Peter Gambacorta – bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in treating patients with sports injuries. Each member of our sports medicine team was fellowship trained at renowned institutions and treats athletes of all ages. Our specialists’ surgical approach involves minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques of the shoulder, hip, knee, elbow and ankle. The orthopedic sports medicine subspecialty focuses on musculoskeletal injuries throughout the body and our physicians commonly repair broken bones, torn tendons, and perform advanced ligament reconstructions.

Our sports medicine team is active on local and national levels in treating high school and professional athletes. For them, treating injured athletes is a passion. When they are not in the office or the operating room, you will often find our sports medicine physicians volunteering their time at sports events at the local high schools, colleges, rinks and arenas of Western New York.
